Clerk Typist 3 (Citizen Support), F/T Temp. (to December 31, 2015)

This position performs a variety of clerical duties relating to the administration of Citizen Support Services. Establishes, maintains, updates and retrieves a variety of client and volunteer files, records and reports manually and/or by using Better Impact software. Qualifications include: completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by typing (45 w.p.m. minimum), word processing and commercial courses, plus sound related experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Sound knowledge of the methods, practices and procedures used in operating within the Microsoft Office environment to produce moderately complex reports, tables, graphs and documents. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with older adults and senior citizens and to deal with the public effectively in explaining departmental regulations and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism within a team environment. Simon Fraser Public Interest Research Group (SFPIRG), $30.47/hr

SFPIRG is a student-funded and student-directed resource centre dedicated to engaging students in social and environmental justice. The Director of Administration is one of the three co-executives that make up SFPIRG's staff collective. (The other two are the Director of Research & Education and the Director of Communications). Requirements: • Commitment to social and environmental justice and progressive social change, with a strong intersectional anti-oppression analysis and practice • Education and/or work experience doing administration in a non-profit or community setting • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, Windows • Extremely well-organized, attention to detail, excellent time-management skills • Basic computer repair and networking an asset • Bookkeeping experience, including familiarity with Sage 50 (Simply Accounting), an asset.
