The Project Coordinator assists the Manager of Environmental Planning and Hazardous Materials Team Coordinator and plays a key role in building and maintaining a high performance team of junior, intermediate and senior environmental technicians that are able to deliver high-quality pre-demolition and compliance-based hazardous building material surveys, hazardous material abatement specifications and projects, occupational health and safety assessments, (light) industrial hygiene assessments, mould and moisture assessments, indoor air quality assessments and safety training programs to various departments of the City of Vancouver. Qualifications: • Completion of the twelfth school grade preferably supplemented by health and safety courses related to the work • Considerable related experience including some as a Hazardous Materials Technician • Experience managing hazardous materials projects • Extensive knowledge and experience in application of the BC Occupational Health and Safety Regulation • Considerable understanding of health hazards related to hazardous building materials • Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in the survey, encapsulation and removal of hazardous building materials • Some knowledge of the operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems • A valid Driver's license for the Province of British Columbia as local area travel is a requirement of this position.
