Lead Senior Engineer - Civil/Structural
Metro Vancouver, Burnaby

The ideal candidate will have a balance of linear civil design, structural design and design team management experience. The linear civil design experience should include utility design, working on public streets, coordinating with member municipalities and regulatory agencies, working with the general public, and working with consultants and contractors. Structural experience should include supervision or coordination of structural engineers, familiarity with the BCBC and NBC, and familiarity with structural design practices. Candidate must have experience supervising a team of design engineers, ability to assist and guide team in resolving difficult problems, facilitate stakeholder involvement and use inclusion and consensus building to resolve problems. Requirements: • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and 10 years of recent related experience in both areas of practice; or an equivalent combination of training and experience • Membership or eligibility for immediate membership as a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (APEGBC) • Considerable relevant experience managing and leading projects for the design and construction of major capital, upgrade and operational projects related to the regional sewerage and drainage infrastructure • Demonstrated project management experience that includes scope definition, cost control, planning, estimating, contract preparation, construction management and inspections through to commissioning • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project for communication, documentation, reporting, analysis, project management and cost control • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License. Mechanical Design Technologist

The successful candidate will be involved in numerous projects which will cover mechanical designs of custom generator sets, pumping units, parts, etc. In addition this person would be involved in performing tests to validate performance. During projects the designer will interface with other departments, such as sales, electrical, service and production, to ensure a project reaches completion in a timely manner and that the project meets the goals set.
