Civil Engineer II

Electrical Design Technologist
TRIUMF, Vancouver

Looking for an intermediate level Electrical Design Technologist who will join our existing Design Office team engaged in providing technical support and design services for TRIUMF's experimental facilities. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the preparation and maintenance of schematics and facility layouts of electrical services using 2D and/or 3D CAD modeling software, and other support documentation. The scope of the position will be determined by the experience level of the successful applicant. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, BC Building Code and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. Experience with electrical circuit diagrams for industry applications including lighting systems, fire alarms, grounding and power distribution are required. Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks will be considered a definite asset. Strong organizational abilities, good interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment must be clearly demonstrated. Minimum qualifications will include a Technology Diploma in an electrical discipline or the equivalent, with a minimum of 3-5 years practical experience.
