Urban Designer (Planner)

This Planner III position serves a vital leadership role within the Urban Design Division. The incumbent is a highly experienced, trained architect and urban designer responsible for making key recommendations on matters relating to all aspects of urban design. Qualifications: University graduation in Architecture, in combination with a degree in Landscape Architecture or Urban Design is desired or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A minimum of fifteen years of professional experience in architecture, urban design, and landscape architecture including extensive experience in the private sector, with demonstrated experience in management of large scale projects and development of public realm plans. Demonstrated design ability with an emphasis on large scale development. Superior verbal and written communication skills. Experience in leading teams and in project management. Ability to work within a team environment and within defined time lines. Demonstrated ability and experience in negotiating and conflict resolution. Full working knowledge of AutoCad, Sketch Up, PhotoShop, etc. is desirable. Membership or eligibility for membership in the Architectural Institute of British Columbia is required. The Environmental Health Technician will provide environmental health technical services under the direction of an Environmental Health Officer or Supervisor, on behalf of Environmental Public Health Services, First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), and First Nations communities in British Columbia.
