If you have an interview coming up, here are some quick tips for success!
Make sure you can describe exactly what you have to offer an employer. Be able to use samples, examples, and stories from your past experience to describe your abilities and achievements.
Take the time to learn about the company you're interviewing with, and the position. Write down some thoughtful questions to ask at the end of the interview.
Whether you do it in front of a mirror, with a friend or family member, or videotaped, make sure to practice your interview answers out loud. Sometimes they sound better in your head than they do coming out of your mouth!
Dress to impress! Know where you're going and arrive early.
Always be positive in an interview. Even if you have had negative experiences with a past employer, focus on the positives - what did you learn from that experience? What were some of your successes?
Your positive attitude shouldn't end there either. Show your enthusiasm for the position for which you're being interviewed. Employers prefer to hire someone who really wants to be there!
