About the Role
Scheduling Requirements
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including short (1–2 hour) and longer shifts
• Availability for days and evenings (up to midnight)
• Ability to work at least one weekend day a week
• Willingness to fill scheduling gaps as needed
• Must be able to commit to a consistent, ongoing weekly schedule
Key Responsibilities
• Provide personal care in accordance with established care plans
• Support clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene
• Assist with transfers, mobility, repositioning, and exercises
• Provide companionship and light housekeeping to support clients in remaining at home
• Prepare meals based on client and family preferences (including a variety of cuisines)
• Ensure client safety and proper use of equipment at all times
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Work collaboratively with clients, families, and the care team while maintaining professional boundaries
Details
2–5 years of PSW experience in community-based settings
International nursing/medical education or PSW certification from a recognized institution
Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle
Ability to travel between client locations (rural/remote availability is an asset)
Strong communication skills (verbal and written English)
Experience with mechanical lifts in a home care setting
Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
Sound judgment and a strong commitment to safe, competent care
Current registration with the Health and Supportive Care Providers Oversight Authority (HSCPOA) is an asset
