About The Event

We are pleased to invite you to a special virtual mentoring session focused on the Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA) Program in Alberta on March 12. This session is designed specifically for International Medical Graduates who are considering or preparing for a move to Alberta.

Event Details:

Topic: Navigating PRA-Alberta: A Pathway for IMGs

    Date: Thursday, March 12

    Time: 4:00 PM EST

    Location: Virtual (via Teams)

Meet Our Guest Speaker:

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Khan who is an International Medical Graduate who completed medical school in India. They have gained diverse clinical experience across India, Canada, and the United States, working in family medicine, internal medicine, ICU, hospice, and outpatient settings. Our speaker has worked extensively as a Clinical Assistant and is experienced in electronic medical record (EMR) systems, patient-centered care, and culturally competent practice. Their exposure to different healthcare systems has strengthened their understanding of the challenges IMGs face while navigating licensure pathways. The speaker has completed the USMLE steps and MCCQE1 and is ECFMG certified and LMCC. They are currently focused on the Alberta Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA) pathway.

Why This Session is Important for You:

Understanding the provincial pathways to practice is crucial for your career planning. This session will break down the PRA-Alberta process, offering clear guidance on:

  • The eligibility requirements and application steps for the PRA program.

  • How Alberta's healthcare landscape offers opportunities for IMGs.

  • Practical tips for relocating and integrating professionally into Alberta.

  • A chance to ask questions in a supportive, peer-learning environment.

Whether you are actively applying to Alberta or simply exploring your options across Canada, this session will provide the clarity and insight you need to move forward with confidence.

We look forward to seeing you there and supporting you on your journey.
