About the Role
- Assist the dentist during procedures while ensuring patient comfort
- Prepare treatment rooms and instruments following infection control protocols
- Take dental X-rays in compliance with HARP guidelines
- Take impressions and assist with restorative treatments
- Apply fluoride, sealants, and desensitizing agents
- Provide oral hygiene instructions to patients
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records
- Greet and prepare patients, addressing questions and concerns professionally
- Follow strict sterilization and safety protocols
- Assist with scheduling, charting, and maintaining patient records
- Support front desk operations and help manage patient flow
Details
Certification: Level II Dental Assistant certification preferred
HARP Certification: Required (must be able to legally take dental radiographs in Ontario)
Experience: Previous dental assisting experience preferred
Technical Skills: Familiarity with Dentrix or other dental software is an asset
Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Organization: Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Patient Focus: Friendly, professional, and compassionate approach to patient care
Adaptability: Quick learner with a proactive mindset
