About the Role
We are currently seeking a compassionate and self-driven Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to support a wonderful paediatric client in the Etobicoke/Brampton area with ongoing morning and afternoon care.

Shifts
• Someone who can commit to an ongoing, weekly schedule: Thursdays 8:30am-8:30pm and alternating Saturdays 8:30am-8:30pm. There may be other hours available if seeking a full-time schedule with client.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide personal care and assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene support, bathing, and medication administration, within the scope of practice for an RPN or RN.
• Deliver exceptional patient care as outlined in individualized care plans, addressing all relevant medical needs.
• Ensure client safety and use equipment properly and responsibly.
• Assist clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required.
• Monitor and assess patients' medical health, as well as their physical and mental well-being.
• Practice safely and competently, working within the limits of experience and knowledge.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation and records.
Details
Must have complex care experience with:
G-tube and J-tube feeding
Oxygen therapy
Seizure monitoring and management
Preferred experience with:
Tracheostomy care
Invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Cough assist
Suctioning (deep, oral, nasal)
We are happy to provide training for the right candidate
Other Requirements:
Owning a vehicle and a valid driver’s license is an asset (not required).
Negative TB test completed within the last year.
Active CNO Registration and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Certificate.
COVID-19 vaccination receipts (subject to exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Code).
Valid Criminal Record Check (completed within the last year).
Current CPR/First Aid certification.
Valid WHMIS 2015 certification.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators as needed.
Must be okay with essential oils, including eucalyptus and lavender.
Must be detail-oriented and organized and have strong clinical judgement.
Must be okay to reposition clients up to 100lbs.
