About the Role

We are looking for an awesome, self-driven Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to assist us with a lovely paediatric home care client in Brampton for ongoing support. Must be flexible with schedule.

Shifts
• Overnight coverage with some possibility of days.
• Full-time hours (32+) available with this client.
• NO SLEEPING during overnight shifts, you will need to be awake and alert the entire shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Adhere to providing personal care and help clients with their ADLs (hygiene assistance, bathing, and medications administration) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse
• Provide exceptional patient care as outlined in their care plans, supporting patients with all applicable medical needs
• Meets the safety needs of the client and uses equipment safely and properly
• Assists clients with transfers, ambulation, and exercises as required
• Observe the patients' medical health as well as their physical and mental responses
• Functions within the limits of own experience and knowledge, and practices safely and competently within the job description
• Completes records and documentation accurately and thoroughly

Details

Must have Complex Care experience with the following interventions:

  • Tracheostomy

  • suctioning (oral, nasal or trach suctioning)

  • G and J tube feeding

  • Ventilators

  • Bi-pap or C-pap

  • Cough assist

  • Oxygenation

  • Seizure monitoring


We are happy to provide training for the right candidate


Other requirements include:

  • An asset if you own vehicle and have a valid driver's licence (not required)

  • Negative TB Test completed within the last year

  • CNO Registration and Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) Certificate

  • COVID Vaccination Receipts subject to an exemption pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code

  • Valid Criminal Record Check - must be completed within the last year.

  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification

  • Valid WHMIS2015 certification from the last year

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English

  • Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Coordinators when needed.
