The Physician Assistant will work closely with the family physician to assist in patient assessment, documentation, and follow-up care. The role is particularly suited for internationally trained medical graduates (IMGs) who have clinical experience in family medicine, women’s health, or primary care and are seeking meaningful experience within the Canadian healthcare setting.

About the Clinic
A community-focused family physician’s office in North York, ON is seeking a Physician Assistant to support patient care and daily clinical operations. The clinic provides comprehensive primary care services to individuals and families, with a strong focus on preventive care, women’s health, and chronic disease management.
Key Responsibilities
Record patient data and medical history upon arrival
Measure and document vital signs accurately
Assist the physician during patient consultations, examinations, and minor procedures
Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (Osler/Telus Health) system
Support the coordination of patient follow-ups, health education, and preventive care initiatives
Provide culturally sensitive care, particularly in areas of women’s reproductive health, maternal wellness, and community health education
Ensure examination rooms and equipment are prepared and sanitized according to clinic standards
Qualifications
Medical background (IMGs encouraged to apply)
Previous experience in a clinical assistant or physician assistant role preferred
Strong understanding of women’s health, reproductive care, and family medicine
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach
Proficiency with EMR systems and basic clinical documentation
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Assets
Ability to communicate in Urdu and/or Bengali is an asset (to support patient comfort and cultural connection)
Familiarity with Canadian healthcare protocols and standards
